Combat Dice

In the game there’s different Combat Dies, each representing a weapon category:

For Melee theres white 6 sided dice with the following face values:

5 hits (with their delivered presicion and force shown as impact pips)

The amount of pips, must equal or exceed the opponents armour value to deliver a wound.

1 skull (weapon causing a non savable wound)

As such all weapons are equally lethal, the main difference is their melee range.

  • Range 4" Pike
    • Pike
  • Range 3" Pole Arm Pointy
    • Lance, Spear, Ranseur
  • Range 3" Pole Arm Edged
    • Halberd, Partisan, Billhook, Glaive, Bardiche
  • Range 2" 2Hand Concussion
    • Flail, Quarterstaff, war mattock, bludgeon, war hammer, war mace, lucerne hammer, sledgehammer, maul
  • Range 2" 2Hand Edged
    • battle axe, two-handed sword, great sword, bastard sword, falchion, claymore, naginata
  • Range 1" 1Hand Concussion
    • Club, mace, mace flanged, mace spiked, morning star, war hammer, whip, crow bill, bludgeon, rod, cudgel
  • Range 1" 1Hand Edged
    • Broadsword, falchion, hand axe, main gauche, rapier, scimitar, short sword, khopesh, gladius, cutlass, hand-and-half, katana, war axe, claw
  • Range 0" Body Edged
    • Pugio, Poingard, Dagger, Katar, Kukri, Kris, Claw/Talon, Beak, Stiletto
  • Range 0" Body Concussion
    • Fist, Kick, Sweep, Pincher, Bite, Horn/Tusk

Missile Die for all non-melee attacks.

The die faces are:

1 blank indicate a miss

1 skull indicate a missile striking home within weapon range, that can't be saved

1 arrow indicate a missile, able to reach the target, striking home.

2 arrows indicate a missile, able to reach the target, striking home.

3 arrows indicate a missile, able to reach the target, striking home.

4 arrows indicate a missile, able to reach the target, striking home.

Example: Longbow firing at an enemy unit at 16+ inc away, needs 3+ Arrows of the Skull to deliver a hit.

    • Composite bow, Heavy crossbow
  • Range 16" (>>)       Missile-Short
    • Short bow, Light crossbow, Javelin
  • Range 8" (>)            Thrown
    • Knife, Dart, Bola, Sling

For Dagger, 1H and 2H some can buy an additional weapon at same cost as the primary weapon.

This removes the ability to be shielded.

Updated the reach from cm to inch.

Also elaborated the Missile dice description

Refined descriptions, altered some categories, elaborated on Missile Die

Altered some weapon ranges.

Adjusted weapon group content.

Added the standard unit melee dice composition/faces.

To reflect the armour system, the Melee Die has been altered.
