Legend
“Freydis was on the brink of her endurance when a cave littered with Frostbloom welcomed her. It even offered a frosty cure.”
History
Freydis Sylvaria, a fearless explorer of the subarctic tundras, stumbled upon Frostbloom while seeking shelter from a hazardous blizzard. Intrigued by the lichen’s ability to thrive in such extreme cold, she experimented with it at site and brought some with her when she left.
Returning to her workshop, she began to study its properties. She unlocked its potential for medicinal use and developed various products from the lichen. Her discovery of Frostbloom revolutionised the treatment of cold-related ailments in the subarctic regions. Freydi’s knowledge has been passed unaltered down through generations, as none has managed to improve products or use.

Description
Frostbloom is a resilient perennial lichen that blankets the rocky ground of subarctic tundras. It has a pale blue-green to celeste colouration, and its fruticose branches form intricate patterns resembling frost crystals. Despite its delicate appearance, Frostbloom is incredibly hardy, with adaptations to survive freezing temperatures.

Handling
After harvest, Frostbloom lichen is typically dried in the cold subarctic air to preserve its delicate appearance and properties. It is then stored in airtight containers to protect it from moisture and maintain its efficacy.
To create poultices, Frostbloom is crushed into a fine powder and mixed with a gel-like substance. Elixirs are prepared by steeping the lichen in alcohol.
Frostbloom poultices are stored in sealed containers to prevent moisture from affecting their quality. Elixirs are typically stored in glass vials with tight seals.
