Magic Shard

Legend

“The newfound gem was strangely coloured with a warm feeling, and as she turned away from the oozing rocks, a god emerged. Sensing it reached not just for the gem but also her Spirit, she flung up the gem-holding hand and fired off her best protection spell. Tenfold energised, it blasted the wide-eyed God backwards into the Astral.”

Description

When Mana leaked into The Void and later into our World, it generally crystallised in a form somewhat adhering to its Purity; although forms can span into adjacent purities, it’s a general guideline for a shard’s purity.

  • Fractured: (1-125) – Implies a chaotic, broken structure.
  • Rough: (126-325) – suggests a coarse, uneven surface.
  • Jagged: (326-500) – Indicates sharp, pointed edges.
  • Smooth: (501-650) – Implies a polished, even surface.
  • Pristine: (651-775) – Suggests a perfect, unspoiled state.
  • Exquisite: (776-875) – Indicates exceptional quality or beauty.
  • Radiant: (876-950) – Suggests a glowing, luminous appearance.
  • Celestial: (951-1000) – Implies a heavenly or divine origin.

It’s possible to… by alchemy… merge shards into higher quality… although one must be aware… that their purity will be… between the average of both… and the minimum… of the next quality level..

  • Merge 2 Fractured to 1 Rough (1-125)
  • Merge 2 Rough to 1 Jagged (126-325)
  • Merge 2 Jagged to 1 Smooth (326-500)
  • Merge 2 Smooth to 1 Pristine  (501-650)
  • Merge 2 Pristine to 1 Exquisite (651-775)
  • Merge 2 Exquisite: to 1 Radiant (776-875)
  • Merge 2 Radiant to 1 Celestial (876-950)
  • Merge 2 Celestial to greater purity (951-1000)

History

Since the dawn of time, energies have leaked from the Astral into our World, slowly retracting as they crystallised into shards of varying Magic Purity.

Through time, every Mana Manipulator, Alchemist, and Enchanter have been seeking to find and use the most pure and thus potent of these.
