History

The thin-leaved deciduous hardwood tree is typically a short-lived species spread throughout the southern areas of Temperate. and Boreal Climates. First noticed in late Dark Ages, it slowly became more dominant through Second Age.

Some of the Birch species are of such hardness that they are used in buildings as armour and even tools and weapons.
