Indigenous

Legend

“The north was theirs by birth… and although both Wanderers… and The Great Invasion came by… they still smile.”

“Resting solid in heritage and rites, nothing seemingly can break them.”

Skjald Kazumix

Description

Indigenous as such differ not from wanderers, but for the fact that they was born at the void gardens used to shape the northern half of our world. Thus they called the places home long before it came to be ‘the north’, and their ties to the land and its roots rund deeper than time. These tribes would rather die out than give up their lands, rites, and customs. Not all, but most, also look down on the wanderers and newfolk, and does not like at all when their sons and daughters intermarry with wanderers, newfolk, nor with n-erectus.

They are proud peoples, often standing firm on their heritages, rites, and customs. Relying more on that scaffolding than their numbers, they chose their fights and wars with utmost care. But don’t be fooled, about the shortage of arms in a single settlement—theres hundreds if not thousands of small settlements and enclaves just awaiting their ancestral calls.

Generally they live with a short line from commoner to leader, ensuring close bonds and strong alliances. Quite unlike that of Vular of the Wanderers or the Mermerant, who have long chains of commander upon commander.

“Halfnude, halfcrude, and halfwild. They care more about every child than anyone else.”

—Skjald El Mary

History

Dark Ages

Long ago, they hunted in vast lands now eternally gone.

First Age

They have legends telling of expeditions far south of the Rim.

Second Age

These are the indigeneous peoples of the Northern world, able to trace roots and lineages to before, the free-spirited Wanderers who have been around for almost 5 millennia.

Third Age

In the last 5 millennia various indigeneous races have continued their internal skirmishes and warring, but also taken on the new races.

Fourth Age

Slowly they have been decimating their numbers and widespread. Eaten away be the ‘new steppe’ as they call newfolk. But they has also become somewhat divided as their strong ties to heritage and rites was serverely impacted by the Arisen—suddenly manifesting long lost bloodlines, claims, and feuds.

“Indeed the Arisen was something of a strain. But mostly for the tribes of old..”

—Skjald Vinotis

Cartography

All though there has not been war and conflict for long, but peaceful coexistence and marriages all around, Indigenous and Wanderers couples have become families and grown into settlements of their own. Some even well integrated into indigenous sites.

“One thing is heritage and rites, another is parental and family care.”

—Skjald Valgrif

Organisation

The indigenous settlements are spread all over the entire world. As such they have no shared organisation outside their own races.

“Some does sit in councils and halls, but not really as voices of all.”

—Skjald Sejrik

Special

They are generally annoyed with the Wanderers, and have a tendency of animosity towards Vular.

“Watch crossing or duelling them, as they favour certain combat herbs.”

—Skjald Yell'a'Beard
