Legend
“Freydis was at the brink of her endurance, when a cave littered with Frostbloom welcomed her. It even offered a frosty cure.”
History
Freydis Sylvaria, a fearless explorer of the subarctic tundras, stumbled upon Frostbloom while seeking shelter from a hazardous blizzard. Intrigued by the lichen’s ability to thrive in such extreme cold, she experimented with it at site and brought some with her when she left.
Returning to her workshop she began to study its properties. She unlocked its potential for medicinal use, and developed various products from the lichen. Her discovery of Frostbloom revolutionized the treatment of cold-related ailments in the subarctic regions. Freydi’s knowledge has been passed unaltered down through generations, as none has managed to improve products or use.

Herb Climate: Subarctic Tundra: Frostbloom thrives in the harsh conditions of subarctic tundras, where freezing temperatures and permafrost are prevalent.
Parts:
- Leaves: The branches of Frostbloom are intricate and fruticose, forming patterns resembling frost crystals. They are pale blue-green in color and have a delicate, hair-like appearance.
Product:
- Poultices: Frostbloom poultices are created by crushing the lichen into a fine powder and mixing it with a gel-like substance, often derived from tundra plants. These poultices are known for their cold-numbing properties and are used to alleviate frostbite and other cold-related injuries.
- Elixirs: Frostbloom elixirs are created by steeping the lichen in alcohol. They are known for their ability to improve circulation and enhance cold tolerance.
Herb Storage:
After harvest, Frostbloom lichen is typically dried in the cold subarctic air to preserve its delicate appearance and properties. It is then stored in airtight containers to protect it from moisture and maintain its efficacy.
Handling and Refinement:
- To create poultices, Frostbloom is crushed into a fine powder and mixed with a gel-like substance.
- elixirs are prepared by steeping the lichen in alcohol.
Product Storage:
- Frostbloom poultices are stored in sealed containers to prevent moisture from affecting their quality.
- Elixirs are typically stored in glass vials with tight seals.
