Atthil Ila
Legend
“One of the greatest runic lords and energetic enhancers emerging from mortal cradles.”
“Imagining sideway peeks could lead to such energetic mastery is challenging”
Description
Him being the son of an Ogryl father and Jomzaar mother is hard to figure out just from the looks of the quality blend which makes up Atthil Ila. The strong bones hint in several directions, and the intuitive wisdom and dark hair hint at even more racial cradles.
As he’s rather tall, his somewhat stocky appearance makes him a natural focal point, a focus he’s quite good at maintaining due to his presence. And rest assured that his ornamented attire adds whatever magic energies he has managed to enhance it with. After all, he’s a lord enhancer, and that’s why he’s always wearing clothes, gear, and weapons in contrasting colours.
He not only wears mind-bending or controlling attire, but he also adorns engraved armgreaves, rings, and a large amulet. All fed as much energy as can be stored and conduit patterns that will allow him to unleash much more energy than meets the eye.
It’s a rare thing to see him smile, but seeing opponents relying merely on the strength of muscles and metals makes him split into merry grins.
“Many a mighty metal-wielder has ended up as an enlightened casualty.”

History
Fourth AgeBorn in the roughlands town of Vidjonsviik, between Gnaardag Gnolls to the south and Garrkawood to the north, he was the son of a quarry master and an artisan. His first years were spent playing with others, but as time grew on him, so did the skillset introduced. As early as 1160 he began to chisel and carve so as to learn the stones.
In 1165 he was formerly apprenticed by a stone master on the other side of the Gnaardag Gnolls, who had some interesting skills up his sleeve due to a nearby Kobold settlement, which included unique techniques for working with different types of stone and incorporating intricate designs inspired by Kobold craftsmanship. Atthil excelled in the arts faster than most; in 1167 he became a journeyman, and in 1170 he became a chief. He excelled in both selecting and extracting rock, as well as designing and carving patterns and reliefs.
He often visited his home, the nearby kobolds, and other quarries and builders. He gained a vast network, and in 1175 he was summoned to the Junnatu Caves, about to become the grand home of the Junnatu Weavers. He spent the next 15 years building and carving there after brief discussions and a profitable agreement.
“The strong hands slowly grew accustomed to other chisels.”

During some workdays he was able to study their melee training and rune mastery, and he trained with those when alone at his chambers. In 1190 a servant discovered his practice, and he was immediately taken to Meanbone, their king. He was asked why he had pried into, studied, and practised their secret arts. He told them it had been necessary for him to build and carve the best for them. As some called lies, he merely smiled and asked all to follow.
It was a seldom-seen trail zig-zagging the caves. Atthil and Meanbone led the way, followed by a growing group of elders, nobles, and grand fighters. But as he guided them through hallway after hallway, he asked what the patterns and reliefs he had created made the viewers think of. As they replied, he explained and demonstrated how their techniques were incorporated into the carvings. He ended each explanation with a perfect performance of their secret moves, and as he demonstrated the movements, the patterns and reliefs came alive, energising him.
Learning that anyone in a hallway or hall, who performed the right moves, would release a channel of stored energies, everyone was stunned. The performance was an unexpected masterpiece beyond belief, and he was not only pardoned for any charge that had been raised. He was also elevated past master and into lord, and offered a place among their ranks, which he, of course, accepted in a heartbeat. Thus, he became a Junnatu Weaver.
In 1210, he was initiated into their inner circle, and as an elder, he gained access to even more secrets. Some were carefully engraved or woven into gear and attire; others were combined in a new way, giving them improved potency.
When Meanbones’ hearth was stolen, their entire horde went on an insane manhunt. Their legend told of the hearth being tied to the very roots of the caves and thus most of their energy source. They were desperate to find the thieves, and slowly a pattern of individuals, travels, and events became clear. The people behind it were not their millennia-old enemies but a new force.
Realising the possible plot and discovering who was truly behind it, as well as those who remained neutral, Meanbome began to relax. Although he knew it was dangerous, he said he had faith in Black Oak, Zizu, Den Godan, and Kanziganthir. As he believed, they all were watching this as closely as he did.
In the spring of 1277, Brucester had contacted Terminuz about a small velvet pouch of some very special Kinoblin gemstones. Atthil was sent to Pikleby in the Ivory Vale at Mealis; this we know because both Setils's and Bergons's agents reported the meeting at The Prudent Mule back to their leaders, who informed the High King and Lionel.
Atthil was at The Rim, readying an expedition south of it, when The Great Invasion struck. They wanted to see if the rumours a few heroes were spreading were true, especially those about chaotic swirling mana inside eggs in the belly of Aquerians. But amidst their preparations, as hundreds of Aquerian flocks came swooping across the rim, they had all the eggs they could dream of. Although the cost was severe.
After the initial skirmish, and as the Aquerians flew onwards, heading for the Fjella twins, the remaining Junnatu Weavers hurried back. Just to be greeted by a large battle at the gates of their caves; Fjella twins, Pigryn, Gaji-Kulat, Ye'Til, and others swarmed their home, and losses were high.
With relief from nearby Kobold, Fautyr, and Alfar attacking the besiegers, they managed to hold the gates. And the next years became a bloodbath the realm had never witnessed.
Atthil Ila participated in the Cleansing Crusade, shoulder to shoulder with former foes and competitors; he became part of the net that saved the peoples of the realm. But the overall cost had been worse than under the Vular War.

~Skjald El Mary
Special
A crossbreed in more than one sense, he’s also capable of bridging arcane, mentalism, and essence. Which he utilises as some sort of channelling.
“He is a magical hero, nothing less.”
