Astral Weaving

Realms:

Legend

As she pushed the energies gently away, she noticed that they swirled somewhat similar her movement. Puzzled she grinned, as it seemingly mattered how one manipulated while trying to form or dissolve.

Description

Mana that had leaked or was deliberatly shaped and pushed into the void, had shape, consistency, and mass. Some of it even gained awareness, moveability, and reproduction abilities, as time went on or it was further tainted. All of it could though be altered, if one was skilled enough to dissolve and reform the internal mana.

Soon after the Vornir had entered the astral, they began to shape mana into threads, and push it deliberatly i to the void, or grab, alter, and form leaks. Thus that of which all things are spun, could be unspun by the skill known as astral weaving. Unspun energy could then be reformed, or left to crystalize into magic shards.

Over time mana manipulators also learned how to add energies from magic shards or other ingredients to their alterings, to either hasten the process, lengthen the duration, magnify the outcome, and much more.

History

Of course the divine races knew it long before, even some Drakk Alfar had already mastered it. But, back in the First Age when Insilnuella Eranvurtal visited the astral and noticed it mattered how she manipulated the Mana Sea swirling among her fingers, she took astral weaving to a whole new level.

Such was her surprise that she stayed at the Astral for 16 years, forming and dissolving the Mana Sea as she saw fit. Its said that the Vornir noticed her and that she for a while spent time with them learning their creation techniques. Making her a true master of the art.

She was at the astral during the World Reforming and its gargantuan impact on the mana sea, made her come out to our World. Here she taught what she learned to others, and thus, through time and practice, the school of astral weaving formed into today’s academies.

Through time, while being taught, other races had occasional glimpses of the weaving and dancing. In the beginning with devastating results for the unskilled mana manipulator, later as a common performance of things taught or perceived wrong. So the Ljost Alfar began to teach other N-Erectus and humans, mostly to prevent disasters from uncontrolled manipulation.

Organisation

Astral weaving consists of a series of hand, arm, and body movements unique to each Essence Magic Path and is generally accompanied by the addition of Ingredients at certain points. Allowing one to further enhance the Mana Manipulation.

It’s not only a matter of how one hand is held or used; even though both indicate defensive or aggressive manipulating, it also matters how both are used.

Special

Some say that Insilnuella Eranvurtal once mentioned that she actually had touched some of the Mana Thread being spun into Moss'ari; thus, one tribe of them has pointy ears like the Ljost Alfar. I have never met her myself, but I hope she’s still alive so that I can meet her one day and ask her myself. But I must admit that I have no reason to doubt the claim.
