History

Fourth Age

Even though some of the Nobility who later joined them could trace ancestral lines back into the mists long before the Deep Blue Tsunami. Their own history as such began in 1173 FA, when Den Godan began to study tomes and scrolls of Magic Paths. As this led to his affection for the Divine powers, Den Godan emerged as a Mana Manipulator in a fierce fight, eventually bonding with Murf, the Death Godess, in 1174. Which empowered the group to great heights.

Within a few years of studying, training, and slowly changing their act, they became the fists of their lady. Upon their return from a task in 1176, they found their hometown raided and swore an oath of revenge. At that very moment, a giant light-comsuming galleon emerged from the depths of the harbour’s waters, and their lady persuaded them to follow her and be greatly rewarded. I’m not quite sure the lot understood what a god means by greatly rewarded, but they pledged their lives and efforts; thus, they formed the Draugr Riders.

As time passed, they were involved in as much as any major event in all the Isles, Darin, and The Rim. Some even managed to visit Mt. Vula or go below The Rim. Especially in the circumstances around the 1st Alliance and in the struggle for a High King, their faces were seen several times. Thus, it is no wonder that their leader, Den Godan, and the High King of the Three Wearings, Black Oak, became close friends. Some whisper that their friendship was so deep and strong that their lady eventually cast her favours aside.

Most likely though, it was the fact that they chose to side with The Realm against the Invaders, ending The Great Invasion at the Battle of Weeping Plains. Preventing another disaster, as in the Vular War and the 1st Cataclysm, where Contender gods fought for supremacy.

Organisation

Their ring of blades was led by Den Godan. But if they are still at work, since their losses at Battle of Weeping Plains, where even gods were slain or abandoned, are uncertain,.

Special

The claim that they can’t be slain is a lie. But their slayer most likely will end at the hands of a reborn hunter.
