Legend

“Some claim Kobolds are descendants of those T'Aurs who salvaged the Eternal Bush, but there are scattered records telling of Kobold activity prior to that.”

Skjald Ulrich

Description

They have exceptional thick and tough skin, protecting them as if it were armour. Their legs thick, and sturdy, ending in three front toes and a smaller, sharper one at the middle of their lower legs inside. They have a stocky build, with voloumnous bellies, broad large chests, and massive broad shoulders. Their shoulders and thick arms are covered in even tougher hide, and although their gands and fingers are strong and sturdy, they are nimble and adapt.

Atop their body, somewhat sunken into the chest protrouds their round head, with its fleshy neck and similar fleshy cheeks, their broad mouth spans more than half their face. Their broad, narrow eyes, goes from their noses almost out to their rhino like ears. Whats also rhino like, is the horn they have sticking out of their forehead atop the nose.

Most are bald, beardless, and due their thick hide, they seldom wear clothes for coverage. But are at times seen, outfitted with clother, gear, and weaponry.

History

Dark Ages

T’Aurs and Dwarves both claim a world with no Kobold, yet the Fautyr tell of their birth into the world of “the masters of machinery, the thick-skinned Kobold siblings…”. Sadly, there’s not a single word indicating siblings of what or whom. So it could just as well be Kobold parents, mentioned in a cryptic way, not entirely uncommon for the N-Erectus.

At a couple of different places, for example Mibro Caves, Corba Tunnels and Lemyiq Crevise. There are early Archaic cave paintings showing Kobolds and their machines. So they are surely older than both Ljostaris fall, The Crossing, 1st Cataclysm, and the World Reforming.

No foe ever beat them… no friend ever pried them…

Their secrets are deep and dark… as thick as their bark…

Have their tribe… the greatest bribe… only they surely know.

Skjald Kazumix

Their earliest records tell of them being fond of mechanisation, taught by their ‘parents. As theres no references to those parents, and as Thursar, Wickeryadi, and Boriac as such not are using machinery. We assume the rerered parents are either GodsDrakk Alfar, Jotunn, or Dwarves.

Their continued existence is attributed to the fact that they have been able to outpower anyone attacking them for land, resources, or secrets. Especially their automated bolt and ball blowers, have proven their worth in combat. Both the large wagon ones, the smaller cart ones, and the hand-held versions, have decimated foes to great extent. So that when Kobold clash with disencouraged and damaged foes, blows from their strong arms easily rout the enemy.

Their strong defence ensured their chosen void gardens, wich grew into tricky strongholds.

First Age

Up through the ages, despite being large, thick-skinned, and muscular, they were often killed, with their horns cut off as trophies. If they find one of their kin treated such, they start a hunt to find the poaching murderer. Thus they shun most other races.

Organisation

The people live in small, isolated tribes across the world, and each settlement governs itself by a council of elders. They generally live in stone towns and cities with a lot of basement space. They also have great variation in the food and wine they serve; it’s always a pleasure visiting them. Let’s celebrate that with a mug of foamy ale.

Special

If their blood gets in contact with human skin, it will create an infection, that not only will cause the skin to thicken, and turn into bony plate, but also spread to the entire body. This is for humans certain death, and is called Kobold’s Embrace.
